Avocados are more than a trend — they’re an economic force. In Tanzania’s Njombe region, a highland climate and fertile soil have given birth to export-grade avocados that rival the best in the world. But until recently, smallholder farmers lacked the structure and support to access premium markets. That’s where FarmFinest stepped in.
🌿 From Farm to Facility:
Our field officers work directly with community cooperative unions and organized farmer groups to identify and source top-quality avocado harvests. With training on post-harvest handling and picking schedules, farmers now supply produce that meets both local and international standards.
Once harvested, the avocados are transported to our modern packing and cold storage facility in Mafinga, where they are:
Sorted by size and grade
Inspected for export quality
Packed using export-compliant materials
🚛 Local and Global Reach:
We distribute to retailers and fruit markets in Dar es Salaam.
We export to Europe and the Middle East, thanks to our COPRA license and trusted freight logistics partners.
And here’s our philosophy: No double standard. The very same avocados exported abroad are sold locally — fresh, fair, and flavorful.
🌍 Real Impact:
Over 1,200 farmers now have direct access to high-value markets.
Local employment opportunities created in Mafinga for sorting, packing, and logistics.
Improved post-harvest income by 3X compared to informal sales.
Enhanced traceability and brand trust for Tanzanian produce internationally.
This isn’t just about avocados — it’s about global visibility, farmer dignity, and the rise of Tanzania in the global horticulture scene.
